Legal and compliance update

As professional agents committed to leading higher standards across the industry, it is important that we operate within the law at all times, and also look to demonstrate best practice. Please find attached an electronic version of our recent legal update, sent to every office in the post last week. This summarises the imminent changes to EPC regulations, as well as timely reminders on other key pieces of legislation such as The Bribery Act, Data Protection, and Cooling Off. We deem this so important as to merit a dedicated newsletter, so please share this with your colleagues and encourage everybody in your office to read this carefully. If you have any further questions about the content of this communication, then please call Justyn at our Professional Service Team on 01223 443903.

The Guild Newsletter

Please find below the latest newsletter from the Guild. Whilst the market remains challenging for most agents, The Guild has never been in better shape and we hope to have some more exciting new announcements for members in the next few weeks. The latest amendments to legislation regarding EPCs is almost upon us (April 6th), so please take the time to study the Regional Meeting slides, and also the legal information sheets that we are currently sending to every member office. Thank you for your continued loyalty and support

Why you should come to your Guild Regional Meeting

The Guild Regional Meetings take place only every 3 months, they are free to attend and they give you the opportunity to keep up to date with new Guild initiatives as well as share your knowledge and expertise with like-minded agents. For the next round of meetings we will cover several important topics, including four exceptional items:- Firstly, the continued development of our lettings services. Lettings will become even more important over the next few years and The Guild is investing considerable time and expertise to develop our offering for you . We will be announcing our new exciting partnership with EPM (see Regional Meeting Dates and Format for more information). Secondly, with estate agency marketing and communication moving online at a frenetic pace, we want to offer every Guild Member a free Web TV channel. We will explain why we think that this will be an important part of your marketing strategy, and demonstrate the features and benefits of our free offering. Thirdly, we will offer an insight into the ‘near future of websites’; there are some remarkable developments in technology which The Guild is planning to bring to you over the next 12 months, which will transform your online presence. Finally, The Guild is about to trial a class-leading mortgage offering, and I want to offer you a brief introduction into this exciting new development. As usual we will also share key facts on market performance and forecasts, as well as inform you about crucial forthcoming legal changes, and also share top tips from fellow members to enhance your business. Then if you wish, you can stay for the afternoon and I would highly recommend you do, to enjoy a training session from Julian O’Dell on ‘ensuring excellence across your business’. To confirm your places, you simply need to complete the online booking form below or call the Customer Relationship team at Park Lane on 020 7629 4141.
