The Guild and its Members - "Absolutely Outstanding"

THE Guild of Professional Estate Agents was described as "absolutely outstanding" by judges at the prestigious Sunday Times Property Awards 2012.
The Guild clinched a Silver Award in the Estate Agency Supplier of the Year category at the ceremony held in London's Lancaster Hotel last Thursday.
Estate agents from across the country - including Guild Members - attended the awards, which celebrate and endorse best practice in the industry.
The award organisers said that The Guild impressed the panel with its extremely high service standards and that the judges were thrilled to see these impressive standards improve even further from 2011. They said they were therefore delighted to recognise this effort with the silver award for 2012.
The judges said: "Offering a full range of services, The Guild has different specialist departments and teams including a graphic design studio, full IT department, training and a sophisticated referral system – offering all these services from within a single membership organisation is quite unique
"The team are experts in industry related topics and marketing strategies and are able to assist agents accordingly, resulting in increased market share, higher profits and a greater number of properties exchanged for the agencies themselves. Absolutely outstanding."
The Estate Agency Supplier of the Year Silver Award was collected at the ceremony by The Guild CEO - Marcus Whewell, and Head of Marketing and IT Richard Combellack - from inspirational speaker and Olympic gold-winning swimmer Rebecca Adlington.
Marcus said: "It was a great honour collecting this award. This is a mark of the esteem in which The Guild of Professional Estate Agents is held by those whose knowledge of the industry is second to none. Our congratulations go to the large number of Guild Members who were also recognised, demonstrating that our unique network is indeed - 'independent estate agency at its best!'"

Guild Members Wilkinson Grant & Co won Gold in the Best Agency of the Year Award - South West, while Northfields, of Ealing, won a total of three awards.

Joel Moore, Manager of the Topsham branch of Wilkinson Grant & Co, said: “This a fantastic achievement for the company and the team to be recognised for all of the hard work and commitment that goes into getting people moved. In a very competitive market, to continue to set and achieve high standards and to stay ahead of the competition takes effort and dedication and to be recognised for this makes these awards even more important.

“In the words of the judges: “Not resting on their laurels, the team has introduced new innovations, campaigns and incentives to help both buyers and sellers move as quickly and easily as possible with tangible results including a reduction in the listing-to-exchange time and increased instructions – an outstanding agency.’”

Northfields won Silver for Best Marketing; Silver also for Best Customer Service, and a third Silver for the Best Small Estate Agency, London. The judges said the agent’s marketing set out to create a premium property so that every listing on its books felt like an inspirational home, with transparent measurement and evaluations of results and success at the end of a campaign. The additional fee revenue has left no doubt as to its success of Northfields’ marketing strategy”, the judges concluded.
The judges were also “thrilled” with the customer service they witnessed at Northfields. “In an area where it is competing against larger agencies with bigger budgets and more team members, it is safe to say the team at Northfields more than holds its own. They adhere to measuring all aspects of the business and use the statistics to put in place new innovations and services and to address any issues which arise as well. The time they put in to achieve these
extraordinarily high standards is absolutely amazing for an agency of this size. Faultless,” the judges said.
“Winning an award in the Estate Agent of the Year is a huge achievement for any estate agent; however winning three awards, two of which are in a category that was open to every estate agent in the country irrespective of size is simply unprecedented for a company of our size,” said Richard Palfreeman, owner and Managing Director. “The accolade of this triumph can be best described in the judges’ quote. We are very proud and I am very proud of my team that delivered this faultless service."

Best South East Estate Agency of the Year Silver Award: Ashington Page
“It's the fifth year we've entered the awards and the fifth year we've won. These have really helped us stand out from the local competition, and given a third party endorsement to the way that we do things. This year the judges told us ‘The team at Ashington Page continue to shine every year and the way this agency acts should act as inspiration for others seeking to ‘do it right’.’ That's really very flattering and these awards genuinely spur us on to improve our service and the way that we help people wanting to find their perfect property in and around Beaconsfield. I'd just like to say thank you to the whole team for their passion and commitment to making Ashington Page the best estate agency anyone could hope to us

Guild online consultant . . . goes live

We know how important offering exceptional service is to our clients, especially with the recent emergence of testimonial sites. The Guild has recently published 'service promises' for several of its key functions, but we also want to improve access for you to your dedicated team at Cambridge to give you the very best support that we can.
Therefore we have launched a new service - the online consultant. If you or your colleague is working in the Members' area on the website and get stuck for any reason, you can now simply click a button and engage directly with one of the team. This might be something a simple as 'where can I find xx', or 'how do I import yy?', or a much deeper query such as a question about a legal issue or interpretation of the law.

In every case, you will be connecting directly with one of our own dedicated team who will either answer your question there and then - or quickly respond if the issue is more complicated (such as requiring a second opinion/more study).
This is available to all your team, from 7.30am to 6pm each weekday, free of charge - another way that The Guild is driving its commitment to deliver you the best service. Please feel free to call the Cambridge team on 01223 443900 if you have any questions, or simply want to understand more about how this valuable new service can work for you.
